Christopher M. Sewell: CEO
Chris has worked in renewable energy and carbon markets since 2008. He is an experienced program manager and entrepreneur successfully building teams, growing budgets, and accomplishing results. At the IDB he managed a multi-million dollar sustainable energy initiative that resulted in the bank carving out a US $5 billion finance commitment to renewables in Latin America. He has also worked for IRENA conceptualizing and developing the first international, online Sustainable Energy Marketplace platform. Chris co-founded CTM to grow clean energy markets with tech-enabled services that lead to more customers and access to better capital.
Michael Hofmann: President
Michael has over 20 years of experience in finance, management, and operations and started working in the clean tech industry in 2005. Michael successfully founded a business unit for LKS Group, part of the multinational corporation Mondragón, and managed the development of a clean energy knowledge and investment platform. He has worked extensively in the Global South, working and consulting for many prominent international entities such as IRENA, CAF, KfW, UN, World Bank, EC, and GIZ. He has successfully developed business cases, financial models, economic models and investment plans, as well as structured and implemented capacity building and technical assistance programs. Michael co-founded CTM to build profitable and scalable solutions to some of the most pressing needs of the clean tech industry.
Sam Adams: Director of Strategy
As a mayor, city commissioner, mayoral chief of staff, and nonprofit leader, Sam has more than 30 years of hands-on experience working with diverse teams to create, develop and implement policies, plans and strategies that have helped Portland, Oregon be one of the best cities (Bloomberg Businessweek 2012) and the most sustainable large city (Mother Nature Network 2009) in the nation. While mayor, and since leaving politics, Sam worked to accelerate clean energy market growth. He founded Enhabit in 2010, a Portland home energy improvement and finance organization, worked as the Director of the US Climate Initiative at World Resources Institute, and most recently helped lead the implementation of America’s Pledge with fellow former mayor Michael Bloomberg. Sam joined CTM to help local jurisdictions unlock private capital and power growth in the clean energy economy.
Anna Gusel: Director of Product
Anna is an experienced professional focused on driving company growth through product innovation and operational optimization. She has nearly 20 years of experience across several industries, working to conceptualize, design and develop innovative solutions that capitalize on market opportunities and address internal business process and systems challenges. Anna spent several years working in the UK emissions market to design, develop and deploy a platform that manages the full life-cycle of carbon offset credits for Camco, a leading carbon offset generation and commercialization firm. Most recently, Anna led the design and end-user deployment of a Salesforce-based platform that manages compensation tracking and incentive payments for American Express. Anna joined CTM to build great products that make the world a more sustainable place.
Mark Bershatsky: Senior Finance Specialist
Mark has ten years of experience in the renewable energy sector and has raised capital for both project developers as well as energy technology companies. While working at boutique investment banks, Sigma Capital Group and Ardour Capital, Mark advised clients within the solar, wind, biofuels, hydro, and waste-to-energy segments on a wide variety of project types and sizes, both domestic and international. Additionally, while at Booz Allen Hamilton, Mark advised the US Army on implementing its long-term renewable energy program, providing guidance on the financial feasibility of the program. He has passed Level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Mark joined CTM to bring financial expertise directly to clients and as part of CTM’s development of software products.
Victoria Onubogu: Research Coordinator
Victoria is a recent Geology graduate starting her career in the clean energy industry. She is eager to positively contribute to the advancement and global use of renewable energy and the sustainable utilization of resources. In 2016 and 2017, Victoria gained work experience in the UK working for both, a research institute, as well as an environmental non-profit organization, on research, operational and marketing projects. Victoria joined CTM to coordinate the research efforts of the company.
